Research excellence in management, since 1999
The National Centre for Comparative Management Studies (CSMC) was established in 1999 as the first research centre of the Faculty of Management of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
The Centre was set up to concentrate and develop the professional expertise required for high-performance scientific research in the economic sciences, both individually and in collaboration with other academic and organisational entities in Romania and abroad.
The Centre's research projects address both theoretical and methodological developments and applied work, aiming to assess, design and substantiate strategies and policies at company, sector/industry, regional, national, EU single market and global level. Its interests cover a broad range of managerial and economic systems, approaches, methods and applications, in fields such as management, comparative management, knowledge-based management and entrepreneurial management.
The project themes have focused, and continue to focus, on major topics of Romania's managerial development and modernisation as a member state of the European Union, addressed in a comparative manner.
The Centre's mission is to build a renowned brand, nationally and internationally, through research activities in the economic field, with an emphasis on managerial aspects.
To this end, the Centre's activity aims to produce scientific results that are useful for substantiating managerial and public policy decisions, as well as to train young researchers in the field of management.
The Centre's researchers work in the following areas of expertise:
